The Trusted Choice for Emergency Plumbing

When plumbing emergencies hit, speed and accuracy matter. We know that a burst pipe at 2 AM is not just a repair. It feels like a crisis. Water spreading across your floor can create panic in seconds. We show up fast, fix it right, and treat your home with the respect it deserves.

If you’re dealing with slow drains, soggy spots in your yard, or sewage smells around your Palm Valley home near Palm Valley Rd, US-1, or anywhere close to the Intracoastal Waterway, there’s a good chance your septic system needs repair. Septic tank repair involves diagnosing and fixing problems within the system, including damaged baffles, broken pipes, cracked tanks, or failing components that prevent wastewater from flowing and processing properly.

In Palm Valley, we see septic issues more often than in nearby beach areas because many homes here aren’t connected to the city sewer. Larger properties and semi-rural neighborhoods rely on septic systems, which means more opportunities for components to wear down over time. What makes this area different is the combination of sandy soil and a higher water table, especially in homes closer to the Intracoastal. Even when it hasn’t rained heavily, the ground can remain saturated, placing extra strain on the system. Most of the calls we get come down to a few clear warning signs: slow drains inside the home, wet or soggy patches in the yard, or strong sewage odors near the drain field. If you’re noticing any of these, it’s best to have them looked at early before they turn into a larger system failure.

Ryan and Scott came over to diagnose a faucet leak -they replaced the cartridge to save the faucet when a different company said I needed a new faucet. They were both a pleasure to work with. Customer Service was on point and very fast turnaround time on fixing the faucet.

I contacted Totally Hooked Plumbing & Drains through a Google ad because I needed a company with the ability to run a camera through my drain pipes. My owner’s suite shower wasn’t operating correctly, and I wanted to make sure there weren’t any roots in the line. Scheduling was very easy, everyone I spoke with over the phone was helpful, clear, and professional. Communication was excellent. Collin, the technician, was available earlier than expected, and instead of just showing up, the office called to confirm if that worked for me. That alone was impressive. When Collin arrived, he was friendly and professional. He greeted me by name, shook my hand, and got right to work while still carrying on a pleasant conversation. He asked thoughtful questions to better understand the issue and shared information that I didn’t know, which will even help me in guiding my real estate clients in the future. He went above and beyond by also checking our water filter, which hasn’t worked since we moved in. I really appreciated his honesty and the time he took to walk through everything with us. The estimate was free I just had to pay $69 for the drain cleaning. In today’s world, good customer service can be hard to find, but Collin made me feel like a person, not just another job. I look forward to working with Totally Hooked Plumbing & Drains again in the future, and I’ll be sharing their information with my network.

Septic problems in Palm Valley usually show up outside before they cause a full backup inside.

  • Slow Drains Throughout the Home

If sinks, tubs, and toilets are all draining slowly, it often points to a system-level issue rather than a single clog. We see this a lot in Palm Valley homes where buildup or pipe issues start restricting flow.

  • Soggy or Wet Areas in the Yard

Soft or wet spots in the yard are one of the most common signs we see locally. With a higher water table near the Intracoastal and frequent rainfall in St. Johns County, drain fields can struggle to properly disperse water.

  • Sewage Odors Near the Drain Field

If you notice strong smells outside, especially near your septic system, it usually means the system isn’t processing wastewater properly.

  • Backups or Gurgling Sounds

Gurgling drains or wastewater backing up into the home are signs that something in the system is failing or blocked. If you’re seeing any of these signs, it’s best to address them early before the issue spreads to other parts of the system.

Our Septic Tank Repair Services

We focus on repairing septic systems and fixing the actual problem without pushing unnecessary services. For more details, see our septic tank repair services.

Damaged Baffle Repairs

Baffles control how wastewater moves through the tank. When they break down, solids can move into areas they shouldn’t, which leads to system imbalance and potential drain field issues.

Broken or Collapsed Pipes

In Palm Valley, sandy soil can shift over time, especially after heavy rain. We often see pipes between the tank and the drain field crack or move, which disrupts how wastewater flows.

Cracked or Failing Septic Tanks

Older septic tanks can develop cracks or structural wear. Once that happens, wastewater may leak or fail to be processed correctly.

Drain Field Connection Issues

If wastewater isn’t moving properly into the drain field, it can back up into the system or surface in the yard. This is something we see more often in areas with higher groundwater levels.

What Makes Palm Valley Septic Systems Unique

Palm Valley is one of the few areas in this region where a large number of homes still rely on septic systems instead of city sewer. Because of that, we see a higher volume of repair needs here compared to more urban areas.

The local conditions also play a big role. Sandy soil allows for drainage, but it can also shift over time, which affects pipes and connections. On top of that, the higher water table near the Intracoastal means the ground can stay saturated longer than expected.

  • In St. Johns County, annual rainfall averages over 50 inches
  • During wet periods, extra moisture makes it harder for septic systems to properly process wastewater

Combined with larger residential lots and spread-out systems, this creates a unique set of conditions that directly impact how septic systems perform in Palm Valley. You can learn more about how septic systems function from the EPA.

What Happens After You Call

  • We schedule your service and show up on time
  • We inspect the system and pinpoint the issue
